01

A clear control software foundation

PLC programming starts with an I/O list, process sequences, operating modes and failure behaviour. Sensor integration requires defined signal types, scaling and a clear response to faulty readings.

02

SCADA and HMI design

Operator screens follow the plant layout and actual tasks. Critical alarms are distinguished from informational messages, and permission-controlled settings are clear. Trends, recipes and reports are selected to support operational decisions, not simply display data.

  • Process monitoring and control screens
  • Alarm priorities and acknowledgement workflow
  • Operator permissions and setting limits
  • Communication health and data freshness
03

Modbus TCP/RTU and field interfaces

Register maps, baud rate, addressing and timeouts are documented. Control traffic segmentation is assessed for the factory network. Stale values should not be treated as current measurements after communication fails; the process response must be defined.

Technical questions

Can an existing PLC be retained?

Compatibility is determined after reviewing the hardware model, licensed programming environment, source access, capacity and field connections.
