Module, carrier board and camera
An installation is more than a compute module. Select its carrier board, camera interface, storage, enclosure and power arrangement together. Validate camera drivers and cable distance in the first prototype. Consider dust, temperature and connector durability in industrial environments; a development kit is not automatically a suitable field product.
Maintaining software compatibility
JetPack supplies the NVIDIA software environment for Jetson; choose components compatible with the module and release in use. Version the operating system, drivers, model runtime and camera code together. Keep a dependency inventory of the working installation. Validate upgrades in a test environment before changing operational devices.
Measurement and acceptance testing
Recheck accuracy after converting or accelerating a model. Total latency includes capture, preprocessing, inference, postprocessing and output delivery. Test multiple cameras and sustained load separately. Report a timing or accuracy result only when it has been measured with the selected device, data and application.
